T-Ball (4 to 6 years)

Tball Schedule 2019 (Posted 4/5/19 and subject to change)

Learning the core fundamentals of hitting and fielding is the primary goal of T- Ball for ages 4 years old up to 6 years old.  3 year old children are much too young for this league and are not permitted for league play.

The T-Ball league allows play-by-play on-field instruction and allows each child a chance to learn the very basics of the game while having fun.  Everybody plays, everybody hits as all the kids have a chance to hit a soft type ball off of the T and run the bases.  Common sense, good sportsmanship, and just good old fashioned fun are the goals of this league!

Games are usually played on weeknights after 5:45 p.m. and /or weekends between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.  Practices are initiated by the coaches – not the league.  Please inquire with your coach or collaborate amongst the parents about an optimum practice time for everyone! Team schedules will be completed once the anticipated teams are filled. This league needs your help in coaching and assisting these young athletes.

T-Ball requires all parents to get involved.  The kids at this age need basic fundamental parent coaching to learn throwing, catching and batting – remember just basic, fundamental, mechanics.  Any of this information can be found at a book store or on line for this age group.  DO NOT RELY ON YOUR COACHES TO REINFORCE THESE FUNDAMENTALS.  These raw mechanics are your responsibility. Encourage your child early on to throw a ball! Please help out and join the long list of FSA volunteers to provide instructional opportunities so the kids can learn the basics of hitting, fielding, and base running.

If you are looking to participate as a coach or assistant coach, please indicate your willingness to do so during the on line or walk in registration process.  For additional questions regarding T-Ball, please contact T-Ball League Commissioner Karen Eisenhower at keisenhower@metroreporting.com.
